Regional Sandlot Leagues

Welcome to the Utah Sandlot.

The Sandlot is a throw back to the old-school, neighborhood baseball game. Kids will learn the basic skills of the game in a no pressure environment and have an outrageous amount of fun. Each kid will get a nickname, hear inspirational stories of baseball legends, and build character by learning what being a ball player is all about.

Meet your Coaches

  • Texie Fowers

    FOUNDER

After college ball, Texie got married & started a family. She and her husband have three daughters and live that good ol’ Farm Life. Of course her girls play softball, and Texie has helped coach her oldest daughters competitive softball team for the past five years.

She knows the importance of character development and joy within youth sports and is excited to share the message with the kids in Utah.

  • Both Texie Fowers & Jamie Barkdull grew up in Utah playing t-ball, coach pitch & competitive travel ball. In high school, we had the opportunity to play together 1 year. We made it to the state championship that year & had FUN memories of that year. Texie went on to play 4 years at the University of Utah. Jamie played 2 years at SAlt Lake Community College & 2 years at Utah State University. We both hold onto some of the great memories & more so developed valuable life lessons we developed .

Our experiences coaching so far has made us realize the game has changed drastically since our time playing as young girls, which brings us to Coach Ballgame.

  • Jamie Barkdull
